ANCHORSEAL

End Sealer for logs and lumber

General
Description:
Anchorseal is a high quality wax sealer that provides protection to prevent end checking in freshly sawn green logs and lumber. The sooner Anchorseal is applied after sawing, the more effective it will be in reducing end checking.

Benefits:
Anchorseal stops most end checking before it begins. The sooner lumber logs are Anchorsealed after cutting/end trimming, the more effective the treatment will be. Depending on the species, you can save 5% - 20% of your logs or lumber: the yield is increased and natural resources are conserved.

Application:
Anchorseal should be applied to all end grain surfaces as soon as possible after cutting or end trimming. It is possible to apply Anchorseal in several ways, including with a brush, roller, or with spray equipment. If a sprayer is used, the tip must be large enough to accommodate the thick Anchorseal emulsion. Sprayer information is available from UC Coatings.

Anchorseal should be applied liberally, “to the drip” – apply as much as the lumber or log will hold, until the log can absorb no more of the solution. If there is no dripping, it may be too little. If the ends drip heavily, it is excessive.
