What are you prices based on?
Our lumber is priced by the lineal foot. We can help you convert your square footage into lineal feet using our online calculator to figure out amounts needed.
What is S4S, E4E?
Hardwood decking is typically sold "surfaced four sides, eased four edges." Each board goes through a surfacing machine (planer) that creates a smooth surface on each face of the board. Knives put a radius on each corner of the board to give it a rounded edge.
What is the difference between a "Nominal" and "Net" size?
The Nominal size of a board is its listed standard lumber unit measurement. The Net size is the actual measurement of the board put to a tape measure. Think of it this way...it's just easier to say "one by six" instead of three-quarters by five and one-half"!
What is 4/4, 5/4 etc.?
These fractions are the NOMINAL thickness of each board, standard to the lumber industry. A board that is 4/4 (1 inch) wide finishes out to 3/4" net width. A 5/4 (1-1/4") board finishes out to 1" net width.
Do you have a minimum order size?
There are no minimums here! Your order size, however, may affect the shipping method and cost.
What grades of lumber do you sell?
Our hardwoods are prime grade!
Where will you ship?
We will ship anywhere within the continental United States.
I am local in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, can I come pick it up?
Absolutely! Please schedule a pick-up time with us during normal business hours.
Will I be charged for shipping and handling?
The cost of shipping your decking order is not included in the pricing on the site. We publish current common carrier shipping rates to various locations so you can get an estimate of what the shipping cost will be. We will figure this amount for you in your quote, based on that day's freight rates. Note that freight rates may rise/fall daily. Also note that price quotes for shipping via common carrier are based on the information you provide. If any of the information you provide is inaccurate (i.e. that we will be delivering to a business address versus a residential address) then that will affect the shipping cost. Our shipping rates are low because we use several freight companies that give us deep quantity discounts that we are able to pass on to you.
How will my deck order arrive and which carriers do you use?
Bundles may be stacked orderly and steel banded to additionally secure the package. We ship smaller bundles and accessory packages using UPS and larger bundles using CONWAY or various other common carrier services, depending on the best freight rate that we can get you for that day.
How long will it take to get my order?
Shipping times vary, but from our Dallas, Texas location, it may take anywhere from 1-5 days, depending on how many orders we are processing at that time and how far away you are. Check our shipping chart to get an estimate. We will try to give you our best estimate when we complete your order, and we will email you tracking information once the order has shipped.
Can I place an order over the internet?
Yes, but that requires a custom quote, and we would like to discuss your project with you to make sure we are quoting the correct material and amounts. We do post our pricing so you can compare with other companies and get a rough estimate of what your project will cost. Please go to the Request a Quote button on the main page and e-mail us as much information as you can -- the size, lengths, and lineal/square footage of your project.
What is your Return Policy?
Any problems with your order should be reported within 24 hours of receiving the product. Go to the Contact Us tab and call or e-mail us with any inquiries concerning a problem. You may not be reimbursed for the shipping and handling cost you incurred to receive the product.
How do I cancel an order?
All sales are considered final at time of purchase - when the order is paid for (your credit card details have been submitted to us for payment). You will be charged a 10% restocking fee if you cancel your order after payment has been received.
What methods of payment can I use?
We require payment at the time of purchase, and accept all major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. We do not accept checks or extend lines of credit.
